Since 2007, Hyde Park has played host to Winter Wonderland. Find out all about the new attractions for 2018 right here.
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland has certainly established itself as a key ingredient of a London Christmas. For more than a decade this seasonal extravaganza has been spreading cheer, to locals and tourists alike, with everything from ice skating to ice sculpture, comedy to karaoke, and grottos to gluhwein.
You can visit Hyde Park Winter Wonderland from 22nd November 2018 until 6th January 2019 – it’s open from 10am to 10pm daily, except Christmas Day. It’s free to pop in for a look around but you’ll need to buy tickets for shows and attractions – many, including tables at bars, can be booked in advance.
New attractions for 2018 include Peter Pan on Ice and the legendary Teletubbies in their own Christmas show. There’s a chance to fly through the air with The Snowman in an immersive cinema experience or catch some jaw-dropping antics in the megadome circus tent.
On the subject of thrills and spills, there are rollercoaster rides and an observation wheel with sparking views over London as well as the essential ice rink, which this year claims to be bigger than ever.
Winter Wonderland has plenty of options for eating and drinking from the traditional Bavarian bratwurst and gluhwein experience to street food and festive cocktails in the ice bar. There’s a Lapland-inspired outdoor BBQ too and a fire pit for toasting marshmallows.
