6 best bars in Knightsbridge

Estate Agent Plaza Estates brings together six of the best bars in Knightsbridge.

A restorative drink at the end of a busy day is well-deserved, and for Knightsbridge residents and visitors, it's always useful to know where to go. Knightsbridge locals are generally spoilt for choice so we've done the work for you, and brought together a list of some of the best bars around Knightsbridge.

The Library Bar

The ultimate venue for an aperitif, digestif, or night cap. This bar in The Lanesborough Hotel combines refined splendour with classily made cocktails. Recipient of the 'Cognac Drinks List of the Year' Award by Imbibe Magazine in 2016, the venue's cognac selection is among the best in the UK, with bottles dating back to the 1770s. Live music is a regular fixture, with guests able to enjoy a pianist earlier in the evening and live jazz later in the evening. For those who can't decide which cocktail to choose, bartenders can whip up three different miniature cocktails for guests to sample. A happy solution.

II Bar, Bulgari Hotel

The Bulgari Hotel champions contemporary décor, and its II Bar is a swanky, polished and impeccably presented venue. The dark granite floors, hammered metal bar and reflective surfaces set the mood of the interiors, while a selection of tables outside makes it the perfect retreat on a warm summer's day. The bar menu is extensive, with cocktails inspired by the Mediterranean coastline, fine wines, Champagnes, and liqueurs on offer. There's also an impressive range of single malt Scotch whiskey to sample.

Zuma Bar

Sake is the main event at the Zuma Bar, with 40 different varieties available. The Zuma Bar is part of Japanese restaurant Zuma, one of Knightsbridge's most popular and praised eateries. There are also cocktails on offer, some of which are blended from fresh fruit, while the signature cocktail has to be the Zuma Bellini, an intoxicatingly heady mix of apricots, wild strawberry liqueur, sake, Champagne, and Campari.

Buddha Bar London

It was hard to leave this award-winning establishment off the list. Pan-Asian cuisine and sumptious cocktails are served here, a venue which exudes high-octane glamour. Expect an equally glamorous crowd. A Buddha statue presides over the proceedings, while dragon motifs decorate the walls and hot-pink neon lights add to the sense of theatre. The Buddha Bar in Knightsbridge certainly wows the crowd, but a downside is the high music volume levels, which turn late evening conversations into shouting matches.

Fifth Floor Bar, Harvey Nichols

After shopping in the department store you might be in need of a reviving beverage. And where better than the top floor of the same building? The Fifth Floor Bar in Harvey Nichols is best described as stylish and smart. The icy blue interiors and comfortable banquette seating provide the perfect setting to enjoy a glass of something chilled and sparkling while taking in views of the Knightsbridge skyline. When in Harvey Nichols, never neglect the Fifth Floor, but the bar is good enough to be a destination in itself.
