Students renting a home in London will be part of a university life that embraces a melting pot of cultures.

More than 100,000 international students from 210 nations are enrolled at a university in London, giving every undergraduate at a top-ranking university in the capital the opportunity to build a global network of contacts.

Earlier this year, for example, Imperial College – which ranks at number two in the Complete University Guide’s list of the best universities in London – hosted the 8th Saudi Student Conference, which brought together more than 1200 postgraduates from Saudi Arabia to exchange ideas, present and debate in front of leading scholars.

Many young people who make the move to London for university start off living in student lets. But the quality of your degree – and your employment prospects – is not only affected by whether you live in high quality accommodation but if you join one of the 10 best unis in the capital.

It is also interesting to note the percentage of international students at London’s top 10 universities. The Complete University Guide reveals the following figures...

LSE 44.4%, Imperial College 41%, UCL 34.8%, King’s College 23.9%, Queen Mary 22.2%, City 33.4%, School of Oriental and African Studies 30.1%, St George’s 8.6%, Goldsmiths 19.4% and Brunel 23.3%.

In comparison, the percentage of international students at Oxford and Cambridge Universities – the two highest ranking in the UK overall – number 15.4% and 19.9% respectively.

While these tables show that London is a truly global city that offers a high standard of education, they do little to help students identify the best places to live in the capital.

Most undergraduates would prefer to live in student accommodation on campus, or just five minutes’ walk from lectures or the students’ union, but many international students in London look for luxury properties to rent in central areas such as Knightsbridge, Hyde Park, Marble Arch and Paddington.

Whether you are an undergraduate or postgraduate student, it is always our aim to make your time living in central London as enjoyable as possible. While we cannot aid your studies – or even help you make friends at university – we can remove the hassle of finding you a good standard of student accommodation.
